Did you know that living with a pet is good for you?
Consider these facts:
- Pet owners have lower blood pressure and lower cholesterol levels and in general, this puts them at a reduced risk for heart disease.
- Pet owners report fewer headaches, fewer bouts of indigestion and less difficulty sleeping.
- Dog owners in particular, exercise more though you can certainly get exercise playing with an energetic cat or kitten.
- Pets help safeguard against depression or loneliness.
- Pets actually help improve social skills.
- For children, owing a pet improves their self esteem - someone who loves them unconditionally and wants their undivided attention.
- Pets reduce the number of visits to a doctor by elderly patients
- Pets help to ease loss. An older person whose spouse has died is less likely to experience deterioration in health if he or she is attached to a pet.
- Your pet may just get you into heaven.
I can't remember a point in our life without a house pet. We always have a cat at home, and at least 2 dogs plus occasional piglets my mom would bring home... (We used to have a piggery). I can even remember literally sleeping with our pigs whenever our mommy pig will give birth! I take turns with my brother helping our mom to assist in the birthing process. The piglets are so cute! I remember petting 2 with my brothers when they grew up and ready to be sold, we hated our mom for a week! and never petted a piglet again.
I have my own house now and planning to have my very own pet!! A cute puppy sounds good... can't wait!
Enjoy photos I have taken of pets we have at home and from neighbors/ friends!

Dami nyong pets ah, yan din pinagpapraktisan ko sa photography. #NapadaanLangFromPB :)
ReplyDeletethose are great photos! I have to agree, very beneficial ang pets. We have one cat and super lambing!
ReplyDeleteI super like the photos... ganda! mas gusto ko magtanim ng halaman, my son has allergy that's why we don't have pets in the house
ReplyDeleteWe also had loads of pets when I was growing up. We had several dogs and cats, some of which were adopted (ie askal). We also had cows, pigs, and goats! Provincial life talaga :D Haha here in Manila, we only have one dog. My boyfriend, who used to live alone, adopted 2 cats from the cat shelter and they've made him very happy talaga! Love your photos, Vivi! Scary lang the iguana but the cats and dogs are cute hehehe I'm a bit scared of birds and hamsters too :P
ReplyDeleteWow, those pet pics are really awesome. And by the way, we have a pet, too - a dog, a pretty little thing. :D
ReplyDeleteyour photos are great! love the vibrant colors :)
ReplyDeletethey're all so gorgeous dear!! im thinking of getting a dog for my daughter, but then i have to wait till we live in the farm in australia where we have a huge place for animals. so for now my daughter is being so happy with her stuff toys dogs and cats condo is a small place for a dog i think. xx
ReplyDeleteWow...this poist has completely changed my perspective about having a pet. We do have cats at home but I seldom play with them. I'm such a terror to them sometimes. But if ever I will own a pet, I go for fish or cat only, I think having bird in a cage seem like pretty sad.
ReplyDeletewe've two dogs at home, I was totally against having them at first because I hate furry animals but they have a way of getting under your skin, and I say that in a positive way, now I totally adore those two mini pinchers, nakakatanggal sila ng pagod and they're like babies, they make me smile with their tricks.:)
ReplyDeleteWow, ang ganda ng first picture..
ReplyDeleteI'm a pet lover.. I have 5 dogs at home. Medyo magulo lang minsan, lalo na pag nag-aaway sila.. hehe.. Pero ayos lang. Dogs fight, then they become friends again. Though I really want to have a cat, hindi ko rin magawa. Cat-killers and mga aso ko.. :p
Those facts made sense. Napaisip tuloy ako. Parang I wanted a PET too, to get me to heaven. Yiiiii. Maybe I'll choose a rabbit or a dog.
ReplyDeletemmmmm... pet? maybe someday! maybe :)
ReplyDeleteNaloka ako ng slifht sa iguana pero ang ganda niya! Sana wag magpabili si Brent haha
ReplyDeletethis challenge is not for me... simply because I don't have a pet at home... :D
ReplyDeleteIt's a general observation that having a pet to own is getting into heavenly happiness. Pets are not rational being. They're all under your care.
ReplyDeleteYour such an inspiration to me Violy and I want you to know that. I'm your number 1 fan. Your such a good photographer. BTW natawa ako sa huling photo kasi naging tao, yon pala sila ang may ari.
ReplyDeleteAwww that's so sweet thanks Jenny!! Hehe ang pets ko naging kids... ;)) Naku they won't let me borrow their puppies.. Hehe
Deletelove the pictures of the dogs. I am a dog lover myself, with a Dalmatian back home :-). Good job!
ReplyDeleteBecause of this post, I missed my dog pet who died few years ago and after that I didn't have another one! :(

ReplyDeleteWow. They all look good. :) Your such a good photographer.:)
ReplyDeletenice insights about pets... i think the good thing about them is they don't talk back no matter what you say to them... LOL. pressure released ha ha... Yahweh bless.
ReplyDeletemy son has a bunny named Lola.We have an adopted dog named Patchy and planning to raise some cows ,hogs and other farm animal. My yard has lots of animals like deer ,squirrel, dogs, birds, wild rabbit, fish from the pond and even snake.one time we saw a sanake outside the window waiting for a dripping water from the airconditioner but that was one summer only .hopefully no more snake around.Your photos are really good
ReplyDeleteMy arwana died a couple of months ago but we still have a dalmatian at home.
ReplyDeleteI can have all kinds of pets except Cats and Snakes. I just can't stand 'em.
ReplyDeletevery well said! I also live with our pets, and yeah its so relaxing being with them..
ReplyDeletewe can't have furry pets in the house because my son has allergic rhinitis. he did once have an aquarium with different colored fishes. he wants a hypoallergenic dog but still have to do some research about it
ReplyDeleteReally cute photo you have shared. I like mostly dog's photography. I love dog too much.
ReplyDeleteHi, thanks for dropping by! yeah and my 4 nephews and nieces loves their dogs too. ;)
DeleteWe have tons of dogs and they really bring joy to our family! :D I want to delve into pet photography too but our indoor lighting is just so bad. We don't have a backyard too.. Boo! But maybe I can get a hot at pet photography when we bring out our dogs for a walk.. :D
ReplyDeleteRecent numbers show that 63% of US households own a pet - that's 71.1 million homes and families with dogs, cats, iguanas, parakeets, fish, ferrets, potbellied pigs, etc, etc., Taking care of a pet is tougher than taking care of an infant, since our pets can't speak. Hence, making sure your pet is safe and happy when you leave it alone at home should be a priority for all pet owners. One of the simplest ways of watching over a pet remotely is by using some sort of webcam software like GotoCamera that is easily available online these days. Thanks to technology and some very smart people who are working on making things easier for us, you can now use your basic webcam to monitor your pets while you're away from them.
ReplyDeletewow, ngayon ko lang nakita ang pet photography mo madam violy, I super like it :-) please post more animal photos pa. thank you for sharing these lovely photos of your fury friends. All the best!!! ~ Joy Guinto :D
