Miniland at Legoland Malaysia, Model up close: KLIA

As part of my Legoland Series, let me share my boyfriend's  favorite part of Legoland Malaysia, their Lego version of KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport). My boyfriend works as an Aircraft Technician, 12 to 14 hours everyday airport is his playground. And seeing this Lego version of KLIA is really something to be amazed about even to someone like me who hates airports (because I hate flying, hehe) what is so special about it? It offers a bird's eye view of the actual airport! The planes are taxiing, the small vehicles are moving, the conveyor belt carrying the passenger bags are also moving plus sound effects! How's that! And it was so perfectly done up to minutest details, the passengers and even the luggages. Well, of course don't expect the planes to take-off.. hehe.

From this close up shot of the aircraft you can see the Lego bricks, but I am still in awe how they were able to put those pieces together.

Amazing right? For other Lego models on display at Legoland Malaysia, please check this link under "Malaysia" - Legoland Theme Park- Johor Bahru .

The only thing missing is Singapore's Marina Bay Sands. At night the lights are great too from the pictures they have in their flyers, unfortunately we opened the park (hehe) and we are already tired to wait till evening to see the lego lighted up. Would surely be a great subject for photography!

Miniland at Legoland Malaysia : Model up close: The Great Wall of China

One place I've been wanting to see is the Great Wall of China, frustrating because my brother works in Beijing and he can show me around...  Hopefully soon! Great Wall of China  is the world's longest and largest human-made structure (stretching over approximately 6,400 km from Shanhaiguan in the east to Lop Nur in the west)  and largest in terms of surface and mass.

I guess for now this Lego model would do. This is one of those you will find at Miniland  of Legoland Malaysia. Highlighting most famous places and structures in Asia.

Have you tried creating something with lego bricks? I've tried, but no luck, I can envision them but my hands are not cooperating.. or those bricks are not cooperating! haha!

Amazing right? and so colorful, a good job Legoland! Hopefully my kids would be better than me with their lego bricks, I will ask them to create a replica of Burj Khalifa.. haha.

More to follow! For their Lego model of Petronas Tower, check this link.

Miniland at Legoland Malaysia, Model up close: Petronas Towers

Miniland is the main heart of  Legoland  (read more about Legoland Malaysia). I used to play Lego bricks as a kid, but I just don't have the artistic talent to construct anything recognizable! But seeing Miniland awakened the kid in me, seeing most of the best  icons of Asia built thru Lego bricks is a huge "wow" for me. Check out their version of Petronas Towers, would you believe these are made of lego bricks? They look so real!

Suria KLCC
Suria KLCC at the foot of Petronas Towers, check the fountain, isn't it amazing? And those tiny people!
KL Monorail near the towers, and yes the train is moving! With sound effects too, and those buses are moving too..

Kudos to Legoland, these structures are really a work of art! More to come guys.. I hope you enjoyed the photos.

Legoland, Malaysia - First Legoland in Asia and First International Park in Malaysia

Legoland is finally in Asia! This is the 6th Legoland Park  in the world and first one in Asia. The park has opened on September 15, 2012 and I was lucky enough to be there on the second day of  their opening! Yey!

I visited my boyfriend in Singapore and I made sure to include Legoland in our itinerary since this theme park is nearer to Singapore than in Kuala Lumpur. I bought our tickets online via AirasiaRedTix.com which cost us Rm143 per pax inclusive of booking fee and I located the nearest coach service from our hotel and selected WTS  Travel which is located at the ground floor of Singapore Flyer, fee is SGD$20.00 Per Person (Adult / Child) Including:
- Two way coach transfer Singapore Flyer – LEGOLAND Malaysia – Singapore Flyer
RM5.00 Meal Voucher (LEGOLAND Meal Voucher)
- Coach Travel Insurance
Travel time from SG is around 1 and 1/2 hours (inclusive of SG and Malaysia immigration clearing at the border), 5 hours by bus from KL. You can also  take the public transport, please check details below under "How to get here"

Some Teaser Photos:
Lego Kingdom and Roller Coaster Ride ( that I don't think I will ever try again!  Nah, I'm always scared of heights anyway.. hehe )

The park is divided up into seven themed areas. The Beginning, The Lego Technic, The Lego Kingdom (2nd and 3rd picture above), Imagination, Land of Adventure, Miniland  and Lego City. So brace yourself! The kids will surely enjoy the day and parents should have the super powers to run here and there watching the kids try all the fun rides and exciting activities in store for them! But don't pout  because the park has everything for everyone!!

A part of "Imagination", a place to be for those fascinated by research and experimentation

Legoland offers a 4D movie shows too which for me is the best part of the park next to Miniland (since I am not fond of "rides"). Watch all the shows if you can! It's a MUST and so much fun!

Land of Adventure -  Dino's Island

Pharaoh's Revenge, a part of  "Land of Adventure"

MINILAND- The centerpiece of the park, and for me the best part! Explore the world from Gulliver's perspective.

Lego version of Singapore's Port Area

yes, those boats too are made of Lego bricks
Just a teaser of what MINILAND can offer.. this is their version of  Taj Mahal
