Do you love to shop? Hmmm Let me see what's in my shopping bag, I bought an amazing painting from Africa, then pieces of clothing from China, colorful home decors from Spain and Thailand, a woven neck warmer from India, and some giveaways from Egypt. Then went food tripping, a hearty snack from Philippines, enjoyed some famous Syrian sweets and a taste of famous coffee from Vietnam. And believe me I am not even half way done!
Well, I am talking about Global Village in Dubai. They offer 29 pavilions from over 42 countries like Iran, Europe, Sri Lanka , Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Morocco, Tunisia, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Egypt, India, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Africa, Spain, China, and more! Aside from that they also have live performances by international artists, Dancing Water Fountain, A Fun Fair for the whole family with 38 rides and games, an Abra ride and after all that shopping and walking in their 17.2M sq ft land area is a chance to eat around the world with around 25 restaurants and cafes.
Few of the Pavilions:
Pavilion from Syria:
China and Afghanistan:
Jordan and Iraq:
The Abra roaming around the village
One of the many live performances:
The Fun Fair
The Dancing Fountain
Global Village has been operating for 15 years with around 6M yearly guests from all over the world. They are open for just a few months in a year, recently from November 1,2011 to March 31,2012 which is very timely for my trip.
For this year they are now accepting applicants for lease opportunities, here's their contact details:
you can call Global Village Call Centre on 043624114

For us shoppers, for the meantime all we can do is wait for their next season, here's their main website for more info: http://www.globalvillage.ae
