Cycling Adventure at Punggol Waterway and Coney Island, Singapore

Coney Island Park, Singapore's latest nature attraction finally opened its doors to the public on 10 October 2015. Also knows as Pulau Serangoon, this 50-hectare sustainable park being managed by NParks (National Parks Board)  is located off Singapore's North East coast.

Coney Island also known as Pulau Serangoon, features diverse habitats, including coastal forests, grasslands and mangroves and casuarina woodlands. This rustic park is an ecologically sustainable park with many environmental initiatives. It focuses on conserving energy and water, recycling and retaining of the natural elements in the park. 

The island is best explored by foot or by cycling. Start exploring the forest and mangrove habitats on the newly built boardwalk and move on to the beach which can be accessed at five locations.

Park Information

How to get there: From Punggol interchange, take bus 84 to Punggol Point Park/Punggol Settlement. Walk about 500m east along the Punggol Promenade Nature Walk to get to Coney Island West Entrance.

Park Size: 50 hectares

Park opening hours: 7am to 7pm (gate will be closed at 7pm)

Nearby Parks/Park Connectors: Punggol Promenade Nature Walk, Punggol Point Park, Punggol Waterways.

Accessibility: Barrier Free Access and Wheelchair accessible at the East and West ends. Cycling is allowed along the main path.

Specific Do’s and Don’ts: No Camping. No Fishing

Camara Island, San Antonio, Zambales version 2

Love is sweeter the 2nd time around, well, same goes with my Camara Island experience! The first time I visited this place we had high tide, we stopped, took a few photos and left. This time, I'm in love!!

Check this island out guys! It is just opposite Pundaquit beach, around 10 minutes boat ride. After a whole day of mountain trekking from Pundaquit to  Anawangin Cove, we were rewarded with a good weather so we decided to island hop before going home.   We fell in love with Camara! White sand, clear water and nice view!

We went here a week before the movie "The Love Affair" was shown in cinemas, and guess what, they shot a love scene of Richard Gomez here in Camara island!  ;)

Lovely island right? Next time you'll drop by, wish for a low tide so you can enjoy this island at its best!

How to get here: Take a bus going to Zambales, ask the conductor to drop you at San Antonio town. Take a tricycle going to Pundaquit Beach, rent a motor boat and ask the boatmen to include Camara Island in your itinerary for the day.  I will recommend Mang Mike, you can contact him to arrange a boat for you 0928 340 5136.  Enjoy San Antonio!
